Imagine the reality of having to flee your home and belongings with little but your family and the shirt on your back, in order to escape war, persecution or terror. Imagine how desperate you would be to try to find a way out, a better life, for you and/or your family.
Imagine how opportune these situations and circumstances are for human traffickers, who ply their trade in persons, taking advantage of people at their most vulnerable.
According to the UN, there were 79.5 million forcibly displaced people by the end of 2019. Sadly, this number continues to increase.
