GRETA Newsletter January- May 2020.
The Council of Europe’ work on action against Human Trafficking continues, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
GRETA (the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings) share their Newsletter January- May 2020, by way of informing us of their ongoing work.
Responding to the concerns raised by the negative impact on trafficking of the COVID-19 virus, GRETA issued a statement and discussed how to ensure that its activities continue to the best extent possible. The statement is available in the Newsletter, along with a link to the report on their General activities, published last month.
The Newsletter contains links to access GRETA Country reports arising from their visits to the Czech Republic; Montenegro, Monaco and Romania.
There is also the link to the free online course on human trafficking, developed by the European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) of the Council of Europe.
The course is designed to equip judges, prosecutors, lawyers, law enforcement officials and other professionals to effectively apply the standards developed under the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings in their daily work. It is built up from a human-rights perspective and focuses on victim protection.
