8th February – St. Josephine Bakhita: International Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking

 

Mary Ward Loreto share the anti-trafficking video which they developed as part of their activities to mark the 8th of February, the International day of Prayer and Awareness against Human Trafficking.

Important to step up coordination of anti-trafficking efforts, says OSCE Special Representative during an official visit to the Russian Federation.

 

RENATE is encouraged by the OSCE’s emphasis on the strength of collaboration in working together to combat human trafficking. It is also heartening to see that the spotlight will be placed on trafficking of minors, given the theme of the International day of Prayer and Awareness against Human Trafficking, 8th February 2017, ‘’They are just Children, not Slaves.’’  Please click here to read the full report.

8th February – St. Josephine Bakhita: SKCH event Slovakia

 


 
In honour of the International Day of Prayer and Awareness against Human Trafficking, SKCH Slovakia invite us to join them in prayer on the 8th of February at a special Mass which will be held in the Franciscan Church, Bratislava, at 19.30. 
Because of the Pope’s intentions, this year there will be a special emphasis on prayer for children who are victims of Trafficking.

8th February – St. Josephine Bakhita: The Medaille Trust

 


On the occasion of the International Day of Prayer and Awareness against Trafficking, 8th of February 2017, staff at the Medaille Trust in the UK will be walking ten miles to create awareness and raise funds for victims of modern slavery.
They are also hosting a Coffee Morning at 11.00, at St. Chrysostoms Church, 4A Anson Road, Victoria Park, M14 5BG.

’They are just Children! Not Slaves.’’
On the 17th of November, 2016, to mark Universal Children’s Day (20th November), the organisations below, echoed pope Francis’ appeal ‘’…to adopt every possible measure to guarantee the protection and safety of child migrants.’’

This year’s International Day of Prayer and Awareness against Trafficking in Persons (8th February, Feast Day of St. Bakhita), places a special emphasis on Trafficking in Children and Adolescents. We remember children who have been trafficked and reflect on how we can help them. We remember their families and loved ones who are in pain and suffering.

  5. In the Netherlands, 100 sisters of Charity, scmm, attend a special Liturgy to commemorate St. Bakhita and remember all victims of Human Trafficking, especially children.
