Upcoming Webinar: “Who Pays for Christmas? – Considering the Human and Environmental Cost of Consumerism at Christmas – hosted by AEFJN


“Join us as we explore the human and environmental costs of consumerism during Christmas, and uncover actionable steps to ensure that our local efforts have a global impact, reaching communities in Africa and beyond.”

Our partners at Africa Europe Faith and Justice Network (AEFJN), Ireland, will host a seasonal Webinar next Wednesday 6th December at 19:00 Ireland time.

Brian O’Toole of AEFJN Ireland will moderate the event, and invite the following speakers to share their insights:

  • Aidan Ring, Communities Outreach Officer from Fairtrade Ireland will speak on the topic of ‘Fairtrade actions to make a difference’
  • Dr. Ciara Murphy, Environmental Policy Advocate at the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice, will speak about Laudate Deum, Pope Francis’ recent apostolic exhortation, and how it relates to us.
  • Sr. Annotollia Muzata, Sister of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who lives and works in Zimbabwe in Africa, will speak on the subject of SDGS and the tribal leaders in Zimbabwe.
