In mid-April, SOLWODI attended an international conference in Paris marking the 10th anniversary of
France’s abolitionist law. Together with partner organizations from around the world, we exchanged
ideas on effective strategies to combat human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Particularly
impressive was the demonstration led by survivors, with over 600 participants, which sent a strong
message in favor of a ban on the purchase of sex. The discussions once again demonstrated how
important a clear legal framework is for protecting victims and combating exploitation in the long
term.
We are also continuing to expand our support services in Germany: The opening of a new shelter for
underage girls (ages 16–18) is planned for September 2026.
In Upper Franconia, we are currently establishing a new SOLWODI specialized counseling center.
