Damaris House: Celebrating a Decade of Hope

Dear Friends,

With this letter, I am sharing our news for January 2026, a year that marks 10 years of Damaris’ operation—counting from March 2026, when it first opened its doors to welcome our very first beneficiary. Ten years of ‘Damaris’—a decade defined by names, individuals, and triumphs that once appeared unattainable. From that first journey in 2016 to the present day, our family has expanded and flourished into a beacon of hope. We thus inaugurate a year of celebration and reflection, renewing our commitment to serve the vulnerable women and children whom God has placed in our care.

Throughout this journey, alongside the blessed moments of witnessing the restoration and healing of our beneficiaries, we have also faced emergencies, setbacks, and difficulties. By the grace of God, however, all of these were overcome, and we have now managed to distinguish ourselves in the field of combating sexual exploitation in our country. I can confidently say that we are among the first organizations social services will call to enroll a potential beneficiary, receiving very positive feedback on our operations. What stands out most to others is our approach toward our beneficiaries, along with the high quality of the shelter and restoration program we provide. We owe a great debt of gratitude to God for these milestones.

I am also delighted to share an answer to our prayers. Since the beginning of the year, we have welcomed a new social worker to our team. We had long been searching for a professional who shares our faith and understands how to incorporate a spiritual dimension into her practice. We are truly happy and grateful for this provision.

Our optional Bible Study continues, bringing the Good News of the Gospel to every participant. Actually, this month one of the Muslim participants, A., asked for a Bible so she could study it. It is evident that God is working in each one of their hearts!
